About the event

National Public Lands Day is a celebration of our beautiful public lands and keeping them healthy and clean. This is a statewide free parking day.

Join Staunton River Battlefield State Park staff for a guided hike along the Battlefield Trail. Hear all the stories of the park such as the Native Americans of the Wade Site, the Battle of Staunton River Bridge, and the natural history. Along the way we will pick up trash to keep our park litter-free for local wildlife and our future visitors.

Please register for this event by 9/25/19 by calling the park office at 434-454-4312 or emailing us at srbattle@dcr.virginia.gov.
