Join Staunton River Battlefield State Park Staff and members of the Historic Staunton River Foundation for a truly unique experience. Travel back in time and camp out on an earthen fortification that was used 155 years ago during the Civil War. Activities leading up to the camp out will include a battlefield tour, drill formations, campfire cooking, and a historic weapons demonstration.
Tents and camping gear will not be provided so please bring your own. Arrive at the park between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to set up camp before the activities begin. Guests may stay at the park until 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 23.
You must pre-register by calling the park office at 434-454-4312 or email the park at srbattle@dcr.virginia.gov by Friday, June 14. The fee is $3 per person.
